Title: Meet Me In Space
Artist: Ke$ha

Kesha - Meet Me In Space (unreleased track)

do or die we’re all gonna stay young… animals, you ready to fight? - “Warrior”

when we were young and out of tune / we screamed the battle cry of youth / and I’m sick, I’m so sick of trying / to live forever when we’re all dying“ - "Meet Me In Space

Kesha situates herself around a rhetoric of battle. She is fighting to survive and I don’t think the fact that that’s often a metaphor about partying robs it of significance. But that battle, almost always, is one that she is winning, or going to win; it’s rarely uncertain.

But just because someone is good at fighting for survival doesn’t mean they want to live in a world where they have to fight. Just because someone is a survivor doesn’t mean that they aren’t sometimes afraid that they won’t survive.

Sometimes all you have is the energy to want is to be as far away as possible from every stupid thing that’s hurting you. Sometimes all you know how to do is wish desperately that the world were different.
